About the sport
Paintball & Recreational Sports
Paintball is a team sport in which players use markers to tag opponents with paint-filled gelatine balls, within clearly defined rules and boundaries.
How the Game Works
Teams compete to complete an objective — such as capturing a flag or eliminating the opposing team — on a defined field. A player who is hit by a ball that breaks and leaves a mark is usually out for that round.
Why People Play
- Physical activity outdoors
- Strategy, communication and quick decision-making
- Team spirit and social connection
- A structured competitive environment with clear rules
Formats
Paintball is played in different formats, from recreational woodland games to speedball on fields with inflatable bunkers. The format, field and rules for any of our activities are communicated in advance.
Equipment
Standard equipment includes a paintball-rated mask covering the eyes, face and ears, a marker, a hopper and an air system. Many players also wear padding, gloves and suitable clothing and footwear.
